Frederico García Lorca era una poeta quien nació en Granada. Es muy conocido por su escritura y poesía. El fue matado en 1936 por la militar nacionalista porque de sus vistas muy liberales. Nadie sabe exactamente donde está su cuerpo. Algunos piensan que su sexualidad era un factor en su matado también.  Me gusta está poema porque tiene imaginaria muy bonita y metafórico

Los Refranes

"Cuando el rio suena...agua lleva" 

Esta refrán significa que cuando oyes rumores sobre alguien o algo, hay un poca de verdadero en lo. Mi señora da el ejemplo que cuando había rumores sobre Brad Pitt y Angelina Jolie durante el grabando de su película Mr. y Mrs. Smith, los dos dicen que no estaba verdad pero en realidad estaban juntos. y que " Cuando el rio suena.. agua lleva" 

Journal Entry #3

The past couple of days I have been very busy working on internship applications. I am so desperate to find work for the summer that it has been my main priority. It is interesting to see real life colliding with this fairy tale I appear to be living. It doesnt seem rigth to be stressed out and doing work in this city where everyone always seems so relaxed. I know I came here to study and I knew there would be stress but this is the first time thats realy hitting me. Its frustrating  because I want to take advantage of every moment I have here and constantly be exploring and seeing new things. One strategy I have used is trying to find cool places to do work. I know we were told its not part of the culture but its hard for me to do work in my room. Today I found this really cool café called redhouse. Its super cool to see locals interacting and also doing work.

Journal Entry #2

Today I had the most incredible day of the semester so far. I had the opportunity to visit Arcos de la Frontera a tiny sleepy town further south. It has such beautiful views and is unlike anything I have experienced in my life. The group took the time to have a two and a half hour meal in a restaurant that was housed in a cave while there was a man playing spanish guitar. It felt like a scene out of Vicky Cristina Barcelona. I felt like I really understood the spanish philosophy of "disfruta su tiempo y su vida." I am so excited to explore more of these tiny towns that I would never have the chance to otherwise.

La Universidad de Sevilla

El edificio de la universidad de Sevilla es una anciana fabrica de tobacco que era usado hasta 1950. Es increíble que voy a tener clases en un edificio tan bonito y importante. También la universidad es el lugar donde la opera de Bizet Carmen ocurrió. Yo ha visto esta opera y estoy muy animada para aprender en este edificio.

Journal Entry #1

My host dad was born and bred in Seville. Inevitable every night dinner conversation inevitably leads to how Seville is the best city in the world and a list of famous people who are from Seville. I love the pride Sevillanos have about their city and as I explore I continue to fall more in love with this city. But more than the architecture and the sites I love the attitude. I love how everything moves more slowly. I love how I can drink a glass of wine at noon and it is completely okay. I'm slowly slipping into Seville life and hope by the end I can have as much pride and love for Seville as my host dad does.  Tonight I'm going out for Tapas and flamenco so I definitely think that will help.

Historia 2

En esta historia había un hombre que robó a una mujer. El tenía una arma y tomó su bolsa. Después la policía fue. Los dos se apuntaron a armas pero después abrazaron. La mujer tomé su bolsa y esperaba para que los dos pararon su abrazo. Ella fui a la estación de policía y dijo que estaba ocurriendo. Más tarde estaban en la sala de justicia los dos estaban a juicio. Pero cuando el juez entró en la sala el policía, el ladrón y el juez están felices porque se conocían. Esta historia es sobre como los conexiones están la cosa más importante para su futuro y para todo.

Torres Inspiradas por la giralda

Edificios inspiradas por la giralda
 * Madison Square Garden que era construido en 1890 por Standford White y era la segunda estructura más alta en Nueva York durante este tiempo pero cerró en 1925. Me gusta que hay partes de mi nueva ciudad en la cultura de mi primera ciudad Nueva York. Abajo es un foto del MSG

*Otro sitio que fue inspirada por la giralda es en Puerto Rico. Es el torre para el reloj en un campus del Universidad de Puerto Rico. Pienso que es interesante que tres diferentes culturas durante tres diferentes épocas les gustan las mismas cosas y pensaban que las mismas cosas están bellas

En España también hay torres inspiradas por la Girlada. Uno es en Taragona en Arboç. Roquer Joan i Marí para su casa por ella le gusta mucho la arcitectura y estilla de Andalucía. Pienso que es cómico que este hombre pone uno de los sitios mas conocidos en el mundo en su casa. Yo quiero ser tan rica. 

Tambíen hay una replica de la Giralda en el pueblo de Carmona. Carmona es una ciudad muy pequeña y por eso es interesante que tiene las mismas cosas que una grande ciudad como sevilla. Pero pienso es porque tiene historias y culturas muy similares.
